MEDWAY IS THE NEW BRAND NAME THAT, WHAT USED TO BE CP-CARGA, IS GOING TO OPERATE AS, STARTING TODAY

MEDWAY is the new brand name that, what used to be CP-Carga, is going to operate as, starting today. In order to become the largest logistics operator in the Iberian Peninsula MEDWAY’s strategy involves expanding its upstream and downstream activities to offer integrated logistics and transport solutions and widening its activity into Spain.

Back in May, the company rebranded itself as MEDLOG, a name that the MSC Group uses in other geographies for its logistics businesses and that it owns as a European brand name. However, as there was already another company operating with the same name in Portugal, the Board decided to adopt a new name in Portugal to make its presence clear and unequivocal and that makes it stand out in the sector.

MEDWAY’s chairman, Carlos Vasconcelos, said “the change of name does not affect the strategy we outlined when the company was privatised. Our ambitious path remains unaltered and we already have made significant headway, such as optimising the space on the trains and we have created and improved synergies with sea ports and dry ports. We believe that the work we have been doing internally is going to keep helping us reach our goal, which is to make MEDWAY the biggest logistics freight operator in the Peninsula”.
